Welcome to ShelterTree. This is a binding legal agreement ("Terms") between you and ShelterTree Limited ("ShelterTree," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms govern your use of the ShelterTree website, platform, and associated services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Our Service

ShelterTree is a community platform designed to help people find peaceful and secure homes through honest, user-generated reviews, ratings, and community discussions ("Content"). Our Service allows you to contribute by adding properties and sharing your experiences.

2. Your Account

You need an account to post Content on ShelterTree. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 16 years of age to use our Service.

3. Your Content & Our Community Guidelines

You are the heart of our community. The content you post helps everyone. By contributing content to ShelterTree, you agree to the following:

A. You Own Your Content: You retain all ownership rights to the text and information you submit to the Service.

B. Our License to Your Content: By posting Content to ShelterTree, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute your Content. We need these rights to operate, improve, and promote the Service.

C. You Must Follow Our Guidelines: Our Content Guidelines are an integral and binding part of these Terms of Service. You agree to abide by the Guidelines and all rules contained within them. Any content you submit must adhere to these standards. **A violation of the Content Guidelines constitutes a violation of these Terms.**

D. Your Responsibility for Your Content: You are solely responsible for the Content you post. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShelterTree Limited from any claim or demand made by any third party due to or arising out of your Content.

E. Our Right to Moderate: ShelterTree is a curated platform. We reserve the right, but do not have the obligation, to review, edit, or remove any Content that violates our Content Guidelines or these Terms, often without notice. Our decisions are final.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

Scraping, crawling, or using any automated means to access the Service for any purpose without our express written permission.
Attempting to interfere with the proper working of the Service.
Impersonating any person or entity, or misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity.

5. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." ShelterTree Limited makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service and disclaims all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.

ShelterTree is a platform for opinions. We are not a real estate brokerage, agent, or property manager. We do not verify the accuracy of all user-generated content, and we are not a party to any transaction or agreement you may enter into with a landlord, agent, or seller. You are responsible for your own decisions and due diligence. In no event shall ShelterTree Limited be liable for any damages or losses related to your use of the Service.

6. Termination

You can close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Your personal information will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy. The perpetual license you grant us for your Content survives the termination of your account, and your anonymized contributions will remain on the platform to continue helping the community.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without respect to its conflict of laws principles. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of a court located in Lagos, Nigeria for any actions.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be on this page. If a revision is material, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the Service.
